چکیده

Dynamic nuclear polarization of 17O was studied using four different polarizing agents – the biradical TOTAPOL, and the monoradicals trityl and SA-BDPA, as well as a mixture of the latter two. Field profiles, DNP mechanisms and enhancements were measured to better understand and optimize directly polarizing this low-gamma quadrupolar nucleus using both monoand bi-radical polarizing agents. Enhancements were recorded < 88 K and were > 100 using the trityl (OX063) radical and < 10 with the other polarizing agents. The > 10,000 fold savings in acquisition time enabled a series of biologically relevant small molecules to be studied with small sample sizes and the measurement of various quadrupolar parameters. The results are discussed with comparison to room temperature studies and GIPAW quantum chemical calculations. These experimental results illustrate the strength of high field DNP and the importance of radical selection for studying lowgamma nuclei.

POLARIZATION HYSTERESIS CURVE MEASUREMENT FOR AN Au/PZT/YBCO DEVICE BY DOUBLE PULSE TECHNIQUE

Polarization for Au/Pb(Zr Ti )O /YBa Cu O ferroelectric capacitor has been studied and measured by pulse method. A sequence of pulses with amplitudes varying from 0 to 10 volts in 2 volt steps is applied and a conventional polarization curve is obtained by integrating the charge flow from the polarization switching induced by the voltage ramp. A value of 25?C/cm2 is measured for the satur...

Efficient room-temperature nuclear spin hyperpolarization of a defect atom in a semiconductor.

Nuclear spin hyperpolarization is essential to future solid-state quantum computation using nuclear spin qubits and in highly sensitive magnetic resonance imaging. Though efficient dynamic nuclear polarization in semiconductors has been demonstrated at low temperatures for decades, its realization at room temperature is largely lacking. Here we demonstrate that a combined effect of efficient sp...

Hyperpolarization of nitrogen-15 nuclei by cross polarization and dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization.

Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) is often achieved by the direct transfer of polarization from electrons to nuclei such as 13C, induced by microwave saturation of the wings of narrow EPR lines of radicals like trityl. In the indirect approach on the other hand, DNP is used to transfer the polarization from the electrons of radicals such as nitroxides that have broad EPR lines to nuclear spins...

Cross Polarization for Dissolution Dynamic Nuclear Polarization Experiments at Readily Accessible

Cross polarization can provide significant enhancements with respect to direct polarization of low-c nuclei such as C. Substantial gains in sample throughput (shorter polarization times) can be achieved by exploiting shorter buildup times sDNP( H) \ sDNP( C). To polarize protons rather than low-c nuclei, nitroxide radicals with broad ESR resonances such as TEMPO are more appropriate than Trityl...
